题目一:Hydrodynamics of Complex Fluids

内容简介:In this talk, we will discuss some recent progress in the mathematical analysis for the complex fluids, especially the viscoelastic fluid. Both the incompressible case and the compressible case are considered. Global existences of either strong solutions or weak solutions are two main subjects.

报告人简介:胡先鹏,现在香港城市大学数学系工作,本科和硕士就读于中山大学,于2006年到2010年在美国匹兹堡大学(University of Pittsburgh)师从王德华教授学习流体力学方程理论并获得博士学位。2010年至2013年在 Courant Institute 从事博士后研究,与林芳华教授一起合作研究不可压的粘弹性流体方程的整体正则性,2013年到2014年在纽约大学担任访问助理教授,并与流体力学方程方面的著名专家 N. Masmoudi 教授一起进行合作研究。2011年获得美国国家自然科学基金资助(DMS-1108647)。目前,胡先鹏已经在可压的 Navier-Stokes 方程、粘弹性流体力学方程和 MHD 方程的数学理论上取得了相当不错的结果和进展,已在 Communications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, Archive for Rational Mechanics and Analysis, Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems - Series A, Communications on Mathematical Physics 等国际知名数学杂志上发表论文18篇。

题目二:Global stong solutions to the anisotropic primitive equations

内容简介:The motion of the atmospheric and oceanic flows is governed by the primitive equations (PEs), which are derived from the Navier-Stokes equations by using the Boussinesq and hydrostatic approximations. The strong horizontal turbulent mixing creates the horizontal eddy viscosity. Mathematically, this leads us to consider the PEs with horizontal viscosity. In this talk, we will present several recent advances on the PEs, with full or partial viscosity. Specifically, it will be shown that the 3D PEs with horizontal viscosity admits a unique global strong solution, for arbitrary sufficient smooth initial data, as long as one still has eitherthe horizontal or vertical thermal diffusivity. These are joint works with Chongsheng Cao and Edriss S. Titi.

题目三:Stochastic Problems in Fluid Dynamics

内容简介:Stochastic problems arise in many applications including fluid dynamics and are challenging in mathematical modeling, analysis and computations. The talk will focus on the stochastic partial differential equations for incompressible and compressible flows in fluid dynamics. The known results on the stochastic partial differential equations in fluid dynamics will be surveyed, and new recent results will be presented.

报告人简介:美国匹兹堡大学数学系终身教授。主要从事流体力学中的非线性问题, 守恒律和激波, 磁流体, 粘弹性和液晶等方面的研究,取得了一系列丰硕的成果。曾主持过多项美国国家自然科学基金项目的研究。担任SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, Archive for Rational Mechanics and Analysis,Journal of Differential Equations等国际知名数学杂志的编委或者审稿人。
