报告人简介：
施新政，清华大学经管学院经济系副教授，2000年获北京大学国际政治专业法学学士学位，2003年获北京大学经济学硕士学位，2009年获密歇根大学经济学博士学位。主要研究领域为发展经济学、劳动经济学、应用微观、中国经济。曾在Review of Economics and Statistics,China Economic Review, Journal of Comparative Economics, Journal of Development Economics等国内外一流期刊上发表学术论文。担任American Economic Journal-Applied Economics, American Economic Journal-Economic Policy等期刊审稿人。

Abstract:
We estimate the effects of spousal labor supply on individual labor supply and time spent on housework by exploiting the workweek reduction policy implemented in 1995 in China. We find that the increase in the spousal labor supply reduces men’s labor supply but does not have significant effects on women. However, both men and women’s time spent on housework increases. We also find that the reduction in the labor supply is mainly due to the reduced possibility of having a second job, and that men use the increased time to do more cooking and taking care of children but women tend to do more laundry.
